This is my interpretation of a story taken from Japanese folklore.  I remember reading this story as a child.  The illustrations are burned into my memory more than the written word.  This triptych was done for a show based on monsters and creatures.  

Issunboshi is a tale about a one inch boy on his quest to become a man.  On his adventures he fights off fish, toads, dragon flies and ogres.

A personal journey, a sign of the times and queen b.

I created this triptych for a exhibition at Windward Community College entitled "Into View: An Exhibition of Narcissists"  All artists were "millennials".

I traveled to The Netherlands(Amsterdam), Scotland(Aberdeenshire, Corgarff, Aberdeen, Edinburgh) and Ireland(Dublin) from December 20, 2014 to January 2, 2015.  These are the photographs from my travels.
